The Safe Sitter Training Class provides training in babysitting skills and the fundamentals of childcare. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion, course materials, and a babysitting bag.
This course is designed for potential babysitters ages 11-14. This comprehensive training program equips children to choose safe and appropriate games and activities, prevent accidents, perform first aid, and begin babysitting confidently and competently. Class size is limited. Cost is $25.

This course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. It is intended for healthcare providers who must have a credential documenting successful completion of a CPR course. The course completion card is given to those that successfully complete the written exam and skills test.

The Heartsaver course teaches basic CPR skills such as performing a head tilt-chin lift and giving compressions and breaths.
2024 Training dates available:
This course teaches the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course includes first aid basics, medical emergencies and environmental emergencies.

This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers. It teaches childcare providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in children or infants in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. It covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as infant CPR AED for Childcare Providers.
LifeCare Medical Center offers FREE Matter of Balance classes throughout the year in area communities.
Small steps make a big impact.
Matter of Balance is an 8 week program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have this concern. Participants will learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn exercises to increase strength, flexibility, and balance.

Join us for our upcoming hybrid class starting on June 10th, 2025! The class will meet one evening a week for 5 weeks, followed by 2 clinical days and one state testing day in Roseau. Anyone 15+ is eligible to join.

You are eligible to take the class and the state tests at age 15 so you are qualified to be employed at age 16.
All of our nursing assistant classes in-house are now hybrid; we will no longer be offering all in-person classes at LifeCare. The class will be 75 hours total with 20 hours of in-person instruction, 39 hours online instruction, and 16 hours of supervised practical training at the nursing home. You can join this class at any time. We will offer OnTrack, another hybrid program, until our LIfeCare Hybrid class is up and running. We also offer classes at Roseau High School and Greenbush Middle River High School during the school day if you are a high school student in one of those schools.
*The option of class sponsorship to cover the cost of class is available.
*You can also work towards challenging the state test if you have let your certification expire and would like to continue working as a certified nursing assistant.
*A Criminal Background Study (as required by the Department of Human Services) and a tuberculin skin test will need to be completed per class requirements.

FREE Early Pregnancy 1-1 Education
Take advantage of a FREE, 1-1 Early Pregnancy Education session with a Public Health Nurse. Open to all pregnant mothers, ideally in the first trimester. We’ll answer your questions and you will learn best practices in how to have a healthy pregnancy. This is a complimentary service LifeCare offers all area moms.
